Abstract:
microRNAs (miRNAs) are an extensive class of endogenous, non-conding, short (21~25 nt) RNA molecules directly involved in signal transduction and play an important role in gene expression regulation. The detection of miRNA expression is a very important first step in miRNA exploration. With the discovery of new plant microRNAs and the functional research of miRNA thoroughly, new demand has been put forward to the plant miRNA detecting methods. Recently, plant miRNA expression detecting methods is mostly based on the hybridization and PCR techniques. In order to provide some suggestions for the plant miRNA detection research, this review summarizes the progress of several kinds of plant miRNA expression detecting methods, discusses the advantages and the disadvantages of several kinds of methods and prospects the plant miRNA detecting methods.
